Nursing care is one of the most important duties of the veterinary nurse. Attending to patients' wellbeing and monitoring vital signs are paramount in providing good nursing care.

以个体病患为单位考虑护理方法是极为重要的。在一个繁忙的兽医诊所机构里，可能有很紧急的工作需要完成，于是便很容易忽略照顾病患的简单流程。护理计划是确保动物得到全面护理的有效方法。定期监测住院动物的标准参数并记录结果就显得尤为重要。早期发现异常可迅速进行干预，以防止病患动物的病情恶化。

It is important to consider the individual patient. Quite often in a busy veterinary establishment, where there may be an urgency to get the job done, it is easy to forget the simple approaches to caring for the patient. A nursing plan is a useful method of ensuring total individual patient care takes place . It is important to monitor standard parameters of hospitalized patients on a regular basis and to record the findings. Early detection of abnormalities permits rapid intervention, preventing deterioration of the individual patient.
